Ted Galovan

Ted has led both private and public companies as Chief Financial Officer and Managing Director from startup companies to multibillion-dollar businesses operating in technology, manufacturing, distribution, fintech, retailing, consumer products, renewable energy, food companies, restructuring, real estate development and construction. Ted is a versatile executive and natural consultant with extensive operational, financial, and project management experience with skills that enable him to assume interim transitional and transformational roles.
Ted has over 25 years of experience as a sitting CFO, beginning his career at General Mills. He worked for Eddie Bauer for 13 years as they grew from $80 million to $1.6 billion, working as Director of Financial Planning and VP Controller. Ted was CFO for Oberto Brands, CFO for a Deluxe Check division, CFO for Square Two Financial, and CFO for Basic Research. He was a Managing Director of Polytor Capital, and currently is a CFO consultant for Korn Ferry, Tatum, Ampleo, and Trimingham Corporate Restructuring. He has significant experience with private equity groups, working North Castle Partners serving as Chief Financial Officer for EAS Sports Nutrition, which grew from $80 million to $450 million and sold to Abbott Labs. He has an entrepreneurial spirit and was a founder and CFO for Syght (weapons threat technology) and Energizer Solar (renewable energy), both operate successfully today. His transactional experience includes the acquisition and divestiture of eight companies totaling over $1.1 billion in closed transactions, and $450 million in securing debt and equity financing.
Ted is accomplished in technology platforms including cloud-based collaboration platforms NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and Foundation. He has successfully engineered ERP installations of Oracle, Sage, Mfg. Pro ERP platforms and multiple custom written applications. He has deep experience in the areas of rapid business growth, organizational strategy, business transformation, transitional leadership, and operating performance improvement. Ted’s experience has enabled him to embrace diverse environments within global corporation companies and various firms and countries including Germany, Japan, India, Canada, and China, have given him a broad experience of multiple cultures, and he is a champion of team diversity.
Ted earned his Master of Business Administration from the University of Utah (top 10% of class), David Eccles School of Business, with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance. He is fluent in French having lived in Quebec, Canada for two years. He holds his CPA license in Washington. He served on the advisory board for Ensign College, which is part of the BYU educational system. He is married with four children and two grandchildren. He is a passionate skier having been a ski instructor at Park City, Utah.
